Youth Enterprise Program Youth Enterprise's Core Purpose is to equip youth living in urban communities with relevant life and business skills grounded in the hope of Christ.
The time students spend with us is broken down into three segments:
Production
Production time is centered around the part time job we provide our students. During this time teenagers work as a team along side our staff creating, producing, packaging, and marketing screen printed apparel and Core necklaces. Time together provides students with an opportunity to work as a team, learn job readiness skills and earn a paycheck.
Business/Life Skills Development
Each week we take time during our program for business and life skill development. These lessons are often experiential in nature and use the screen printing business model we have developed as a living, breathing classroom. Lessons include job readiness skills, sales, marketing, goal setting, time managment, business communications, personal development, economics, world business, survial skills, financial development and financial sustainability.
Prayer, Accountability, and Bible Study
Each week we take time within our program to learn about Jesus. This time includes Bible study, prayer, small group discussion, and encouragment. We talk about what we learn throughout the week and instill the idea of integrating what we learn each week throughout the course of our lives. We also seek to learn more and live out our faith by participating in summer camp, mission trip opportunities, and local areas of service. (Luke 21 3-5)
All of the students involved in the Youth Enterprise program are age 14-18 and live in inner city Minneapolis. They are involved 2-4 days per week and spend an average of 300+ hours per year with us.
In the future we will add examples of our Life and Business Skills lessons to this page.
